Course overview

Sales and account teams in service, maintenance and project businesses handle a heavy daily workload: following up service work for customers with many sites, preparing quotations and scopes of work, summarising site survey meetings, answering emails and complaints, and producing monthly service reports. The information is scattered across email, Excel files and Teams chats, which leaves less time for building relationships and finding new sales opportunities.

This course shows learners how to use Microsoft 365 Copilot, which works inside the Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint their organisation already uses, as an assistant at every step of B2B sales. It covers preparing for customer meetings with Researcher, writing proposals, following up, analysing service and sales data with Analyst, gathering each account's information in Copilot Notebooks, and building a no-code agent for the sales team with Agent Builder. Everything is practised in the "Account 360" workshop, which follows one fictional corporate customer throughout both days. (2 days, 6 hours per day, 12 hours in total, Beginner to Intermediate level.)

Frequently asked questions

How does this course differ from AI for Sales Teams, Microsoft 365 Copilot for Employees and Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Studio?

AI for Sales Teams covers general AI tools for sales work, Microsoft 365 Copilot for Employees is a one-day Copilot course for every role, and Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Studio gives an overview of both tools. This course applies Microsoft 365 Copilot end to end to B2B sales and account management, from meeting preparation and proposals to service and pipeline analysis, complaint handling and a sales team agent, through a workshop that follows one fictional customer for both days.

Do I need a Microsoft 365 Copilot licence, and does the institute provide one?

You use your own organisation's Microsoft 365 account; the institute does not provide accounts or licences. The full set of topics, such as Copilot in the Office apps, Researcher, Analyst and agents grounded on SharePoint, needs your organisation's Microsoft 365 Copilot licence. With only the Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat that comes with Microsoft 365, you can still practise prompting and use Copilot Chat with uploaded files, and the instructor demonstrates the parts that need the full licence.

Can I join if I have never used AI or written code?

Yes. The whole course is no-code, including building an agent with Agent Builder, and the instructor covers generative AI and prompting basics on Day 1. You should be comfortable with everyday Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and understand your own sales or account-management process.

What is the Account 360 workshop, and does it use real customer data?

Account 360 is a workshop in which you look after one fictional corporate customer for both days. The customer has a maintenance service contract across several sites and is considering an upgrade project. All data is simulated, including email threads, meeting notes, service records, a service catalogue and complaints, and Day 1 work carries into Day 2. You may bring examples of your own work, but anonymise customer names and remove confidential details first.

Does the course cover Copilot Studio, Power Automate or CRM integration?

Not in depth. The course focuses on Copilot in the Microsoft 365 apps and on building agents with Agent Builder, with a comparison against Copilot Studio so you can see the boundary. Power Automate workflows and CRM integration need extra time and system setup. Organisations that use Dynamics 365 Sales or Salesforce can extend the course with Sales in Microsoft 365 Copilot in an in-house edition.

How safe is Copilot with customer data?

Microsoft 365 Copilot only reaches data you already have permission to see, and it follows your organisation's permissions, sensitivity labels and security policies. The course teaches you to check facts and sources before sending work to a customer, keep confidential data out of external AI tools, share agents in line with document permissions, and set data security practices for the team.
